About the Role

The Bid Writing Manager will be responsible for identifying procurement opportunities and leading the bid writing process to secure new business. We are looking for someone to manage the end-to-end bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification to submission, ensuring high-quality, competitive bids are delivered on time.

The successful candidate will be critical in driving business growth by working collaboratively across departments to create compelling proposals that meet the needs of commissioning clients and align with the organisation's strategic objectives. 

 

We are looking for someone who can.

  • Research and identify relevant procurement opportunities to expand the business portfolio.
  • Monitor public and private sector tender portals.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential bid opportunities that align with the organisation's service offerings.
  • Lead the development and execution of bid strategies for new business opportunities.
  • Work closely within the Commercial & Financial Departments to understand client requirements and develop bespoke, cost-effective and profitable solutions.
  • Manage the pre-qualification process to ensure bids are pursued with the highest chance of success.
  • Write clear, compelling, and tailored responses to tenders, ensuring all specifications are met to a high standard.
  • Develop structured, persuasive narratives that highlight the organisation's value propositions, service delivery models, and unique differentiators.
  • Review and edit technical and financial content from subject matter experts to ensure consistency and quality across the bid.
  • Ensure all bids are completed and submitted in accordance with deadlines, compliance requirements, and internal governance procedures.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all bid-related queries and clarifications.
  • Manage the entire bid process, including initial opportunity assessment, risk analysis, and final submission, on time.
  • Maintain accurate bid documentation and records to ensure compliance and audit requirements.
  • Conduct post-submission reviews to analyse feedback and improve future bid performance.

 

 

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in bid writing and management, ideally within the healthcare sector or related industries.
  • Experience with Bid Management Software is advantageous.
  • MCIPS certification, or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, regulations, and tendering in public and private healthcare.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously, working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to gather input and craft compelling proposals.
  • Strong organisational, project management, and time management skills.
