About the Role

The Patient Safety Manager will be a key member of CHEC’s Quality, Risk and Compliance Team, and will contribute to all aspects of patient safety to support the delivery of high quality, safe care for all who use our services.

The Patient Safety Manager will be confident in coordinating and implementing the NHS Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) in conjunction with the Regional Heads of Quality Governance, Risk & Patient Safety, the Chief Nurse and the Chief Medical Officer.

 

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Promote a systems approach to incident investigations.
  • Ensure that patient safety incidents are identified on the central database and reported onwards to the Learning from Patient Safety Events (LFPSE)
  • Lead or support patient safety improvement projects. With a focus on leading the implementation of the NHS patient safety strategy and response framework.
  • Develop and deliver a variety of education programmes for patient safety.
  • Contribute to the Governance Team working closely with Regional Heads of Quality Governance and Patient Safety  in promoting patient safety, clinical quality and the Clinical Governance strategy within CHEC.
  • Develop and implement patient safety systems, processes, and initiatives in line with national and organisational needs.

 

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience working within patient safety or implementing PSIRF
  • Ability to review incidents and data to inform decisions to deliver improvements within patients safety. 
  • Organised approach with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong communication skills including internal and external stakeholder
  • Thrives in a busy working environment
