About the Role

The role holder will join our dedicated team and play a vital role in delivering exceptional, patient-centred care. As an integral member of our nursing and multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively to meet the needs of patients, consultants, and colleagues alike.

In this dynamic role, you’ll help deliver outstanding clinical care while maintaining and enhancing the highest standards of customer service and patient satisfaction. Working under the guidance of the Lead Practitioner for Endoscopy, you’ll contribute to a supportive environment focused on excellence, compassion, and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Deliver safe, patient-centred care throughout the endoscopy pathway, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety
  • Provide patients with advice, explanations, and post-procedure guidance, including sedation information.
  • Maintain accurate nursing records, documentation, and compliance with NMC/HCPC and data protection standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, supporting colleagues and promoting high standards of care.
  • Mentor and support students and junior staff, contributing to a learning and professional development culture.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance, and service development initiatives.
  • Respond to emergencies, demonstrating competence in basic life support and patient safety procedures.
  • Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety standards across all aspects of the role

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience in theatre or endoscopy, with knowledge of aseptic techniques, patient positioning, and surgical safety practice
  • Understanding of the endoscopy pathway and procedures performed.
  • Strong team player, flexible, and able to work under pressure while prioritising tasks effectively.
  • Committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care to the highest standards.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and professional skills, including confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of infection control, clinical governance, and compliance with GDPR and data protection.
  • Enthusiasm for continual personal and professional development.
